Submission Guidelines
Call for Submissions
The Japanese Association for Emergency Nursing welcomes the submission of papers from members across a wide range of fields.
- Submissions anytime throughout the year are accepted.
- Submissions are made online.
- Please read “Guidelines for Fraud Prevention” and “Declaration and Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest During Paper Submission” before making a submission.
Paper Submission Procedures
- Please read “Submission Guidelines” (particularly 6. Writing Instructions and 7. Submission Procedures) carefully and prepare the necessary data for submission.
- When you are ready to submit your paper and other required data, click the “Submit Online” button below to go to ScholarOne Manuscripts, create an account, and proceed with the submission.

- Refer to “About Cover Letters” when creating a cover letter.
- Personal information in the body of the letter (Name of affiliated institution and relevant persons) should be written such that it cannot be identified.
- Upload the full text, figures, tables, and the “Pledge of Compliance for Paper Submission” as separate files.
- For papers with English abstracts such as “Original Research” and “Review Paper,” a “Certificate of Verification for Native English” should also be uploaded.
- For the “Declaration of Conflict of Interest” and “Letter of Authorization,” please respond to the email you will receive from the online system after submission.

About Paper Copyright
- The copyright of all papers published in the journal belongs to the Japanese Association for Emergency Nursing. If your paper is published, there is no need to submit another copyright transfer agreement, but your paper shall be accepted under the assumption that you have agreed to the transfer at the time of publication.
- If the author or co-author of a paper published in the journal uses the paper themselves, the copyright belongs to the Association, but in principle, no objections will be raised. However, in such cases, the usage of the sources must be disclosed. If the author or co-author wishes to publish the paper in the repository of their affiliated organization, they must submit a separate application and obtain permission.
Reprinting and Re-publication
Reprinting of a paper published in the Journal of the Japanese Association for Emergency Nursing
The Journal of the Japanese Association for Emergency Nursing is copyrighted by the Japanese Association for Emergency Nursing. Permission from the Japanese Association for Emergency Nursing is required to reproduce this journal.
If you wish to reproduce your paper, please fill out the Request for Permission to Reprint Form and send it to the JAEN office (addressed to the Editorial) by postal mail or email. Once confirmed that the paper can be reprinted, a Permission to Reprint shall be issued.

Reprinting of papers published in the Journal of the Japanese Association for Emergency Nursing in your affiliated institution’s library (repository)
Authors who wish to reprint their papers published in the Journal of the Japanese Association for Emergency Nursing on the web pages of their affiliated institution’s library, etc. should complete the prescribed application and permission form and send it to the JAEN office by postal mail or email. The Association will confirm whether it can be registered, and if so, issue a letter of authorization.

(Conditions for Registration in Institutional Repositories)
- 1. The registered contents must include the relevant papers and proceedings of the conference or lecture.
- 2. Publication should be in paper form, such as a journal.
- 3. The source must be clearly indicated when the paper is published.
- 4. The copyright belongs to the Japanese Association for Emergency Nursing, if the publication is not in paper form.
- 5. The applicant shall bear all responsibilities resulting from their paper’s registration in the institutional repository.
